Interesting Thought...

Thank you for the comments regarding the weeds that can choke out the seed that is sown and how we often neglect those seeds because it does take more time to "weed" the ground. Today we had a faculty forum here at school and one of our professors made an interesting point that I wanted to share.

Often times we view people who are not saved as "those people" the ones who are "dead" and so forth. Dr. Bock reminded us that "those" people, are just like you and I, created in the image of God. Fundamentally, the Gospel is about restoring people, who were created in the image of God, back to the state in which they were created, from which we have fallen.

We all are fallen human beings, but we are all created in the image of Christ. That is our common ground. I thought it was eye opening how we do label non-Christians as "those" people. What do you think?

I hear you. But hey, I used to be one of "those" people. God has been showing me this truth lately as well. Judging people is easy, especially when you see them at their worst. But I've been there, and I can honestly tell you that they are hurting, whether I really want to see it or not.

Oh Chris, what did we get ourselves into??? :-)

Wow, Chris I just had this conversation with someone. We can judge so easily but looking at others through the eyes of Christ is what we should strive for. Even when I pick myself apart, I instead should be looking at myself through Christ's eyes. He loves all of us! We are ALL souls in need of a relationship with Christ.

Hey, Chris. I totally agree with you about "those people". God has shown me lately that I need to love people like Jesus, no matter what. I need to see them through His eyes, and not mine. The hardest is the nonbelievers who we all interact with on a daily basis. Im getting into the habit of praying for them and not looking at their flaws.

You go Ryan-I was one of "those" not that long ago too! This brings to mind the beam and speck in the eye story. Sin is sin. Why is the drug use of one of "those" considered worse than the gossip of a believer?
Thanks for emphasizing that it is accepting Jesus' sacrifice that restores us-have you heard that Brandon Heath song?

Thanks for all of the comments everyone! Jesus died for each and every person. From the drug addict in the alley to the corporate thief, Jesus died for the sins of every person, so that we might all have eternal life in Him and through Him. Jesus is for everyone.
