Prayer
"This prayer begins where all true prayer must commence, with the spirit of adoption, "Our Father." There is no acceptable prayer until we can say, "I will arise, and go unto my Father." This childlike spirit soon perceives the grandeur of the Father "in heaven" and ascends to devout adoration, "Hallowed by thy name." The child lisping, "Abba, Father," grows into the cherub crying, "Holy, Holy, Holy."

God's Will For Your Life...
So just something for you to think about. Does God have a personal individual will for your life? I believe that He does. If you believe He does as well, then the question is really this: Are we to seek to find God's personal will for our lives?
Just something to think about...let me know what you think.
Later on I might post a more drawn out summary on what I have been learning in this area.

A Great Verse...
"Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." --Luke 9:20(ESV).
When I read this verse today, I could not help but think of all the people I see on t.v. who talk about all the people they have healed or all the people that the great things that they have done. Rather than boasting about things we have done or can do through Christ, we should stop and rejoice that our names, as Believers, are written in heaven!

The Walk...
In 2005 I had the opportunity to take a group of kids to the Super Summer youth camp in Colorado. The week was a great time of growth and one of the benefits was getting to hear the speaker for the week. The guy was someone I had never heard of before, but he is a man that LOVES Jesus! You can just tell it when he preaches and when he shares what Christ is doing in his life. So I saw this video here that he put together and thought what he said was good, so I wanted to pass it along to y'all. Hope you check it out.
Prince Charles Thinks He Found His Purpose...
So apparently Prince Charles thinks that his purpose on this earth is to save the world.

Pretty sure he's gonna fail royally.

When I Survey the Wonderous Cross...
"See from His head, His hands, His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down;
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown."

Recent Sermon...
Hey y'all. Here is a link to the first sermon I had the privilege of delivering here at First Baptist Grapevine. You can click here to go to the sermon page and listen to it if you would like to do so. The message is entitled "He is Holy" and comes from Isaiah 6:1-7. If you do choose to listen to it, please feel free to give me any thoughts or feedback.
Also, right now in Sunday school we are going through the book of Luke and it has raised a lot of questions from different people in the class. Please pray for wisdom and direction from God and that we will always be open to what His word SAYS.
Thanx!

Vision
Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Tears from the Saints...
I know I said to check the last video, but check this one! I think I have posted this song on my blog before, or at least the lyrics or something from it. I don't remember, but here is a video to go along with the song again, as well as a prayer that ALL of us would be broken over those around us who are lost and hurting!
Gracious Heavenly Father,
How awesome are You? How gracious You are and how loving You are. Forgive us for not reaching out to those who are around us. Forgive us for not speaking up for the truth or speaking the truth when the opportunity presents itself. Forgive us for holding in what You have given to us, rather than giving all that You have given us to those around us. Break our hearts and our minds and our wills so that no longer will we just pass by those around us, but that we would instead reach out to them with the blessed hope that is found only in Jesus Christ. Strengthen us and empower us through Your Holy Spirit and may we always be bold for You. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

One Foundation
"The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is His new creation, by Spirit and the Word:
From heav'n He came and sought her to be His holy bride,
With His own blood he bought her, and for her life He died."
The Church's One Foundation by Samuel J. Stone, 1866

Truth!
"There is one body and one Spirit–just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call–one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." --Ephesians 4:4-6
Despite what many may say and claim, there is only One Lord, One God, and there is only One Way, Jesus Christ!

Heretics
My Colorado pastor and his wife in posted this video to their Facebook pages. It's about 8 minutes long or so, but as my pastor back in Colorado notes, the enemy is crafty. Don't just take everything someone says regarding Scripture at face value. Search the Scriptures and study them yourself. How else will you know if you are being deceived if you yourself are not studying the Scriptures? Bible study is so critical and we all need to be studying our Bibles more and more. This video is proof of that.

My King...
Preaching a sermon, S.M. Lockeridge described his King. It's is a fairly well known sermon/portion of a sermon. I cannot remember if I have posted it here before, but I was listening to it again, found a little video for it on YouTube, and figured it is worth posting. I urge you to check it out and then pray that we all would know Christ in such a deep and personal manner as is described.

It's Been A While...Again
One of these days I may get used to this blogging thing, but the chances of that actually happening may be slim to none. Although I will have some time coming up this summer, so who knows. MAYBE someone should hold me accountable to writing/posting/doing something on here at least a couple of times a week. Anyway, final's weeks is upon us here at DTS. Last night, 4 hours was spent studying the Jonah 1-4 in Hebrew for our Hebrew final that is on Tuesday. Today, almost 4.5 hours was spent completing a Church History final. Thankfully, we are allowed to take that as a group. I highly emphasize group learning and discussion. I know it helps me to learn a lot more. It's cool how someone can say one thing and it will completely jog your memory and you will be able to remember a LOT of things you thought you had forgotten. So now, the plan is to work more on Hebrew, finish a paper for my Greek class, and then read some books that need to be read by Thursday. A busy few days ahead, but it's all good! God has taught me a Lot this semester and in ways that I never would have expected. I realize more and more that I am nowhere close to where God wants me to be spiritually. I chalk a lot of that up to flat out rebellion and complacency in my own life, which I know is terrible. I would rather admit it, confess it, repent of it, and seek God though, than to sit and hide it. I struggle, as does everyone else. Maybe we need to admit that to more people. Anyways, check out the video below. I kind of made the lyrics to the chorus a prayer of mine as our church headed into our GROW weekend a couple of weeks ago. Listen to it and hopefully it speaks to you as well. And please, pray for me, because I don't want to just go through the motions. I want to have the deep personal relationship with Jesus where I want nothing but HIM and HIM alone!

GREAT INSIGHT!!!
Every now and then you come across something that is good and very helpful. That is exactly what these videos are. Whether you are in full-time ministry or not, what is discussed here is beyond helpful and insightful. I think that all of these guys really give good insight into the church today, as well as things that will help all of us grow in our spiritual lives. The videos are long, so if you just want to watch a bit at a time, that's cool. But there is some really good stuff here.

Who Is Molding Who?
Another good devotional today from Pastor Greg Laurie, talking about how many people today believe in a god of their own making rather than God of the Bible. Check it out here.

A Serious Issue
The following link is to Pastor Greg Laurie's weekend devotional. I highly encourage y'all to read it, as it pertains to the importance of making sure the gospel that we preach is the true gospel. As Pastor Greg points out, we are seeing an increasing number of people believing that incorporating multiple religions in with Christianity is cool and there is no problem with that. Unfortunately, Jesus clearly tells us that He is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE. Jesus did not say there were multiple ways. Jesus said there is ONE WAY and that is through Him alone. Call me narrow minded if you like, but I do not care.
Check out the devotional here.
